Wired wrote about “The Last Shot,” a pop-up experience in New York for the All-Star Game created by Jordan Brand to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan:
This interactive basketball court lets you re-enact Michael Jordan game-winners
Jordan Brand put together an incredible experience for All-Star Weekend.

When the experience kicks in, it’s like a video game augmenting real life. A path lights up on the ground to show you where to go. On each wall, 4K footage of a real crowd cheers or boos depending on whether you deliver. In the Utah scenario, the “home crowd” cheers when you miss-a nice touch.
A real play-by-play announcer calls out your every move, and real players on the court deliver that key assist, play defense and act as stand-ins for Bryon Russell, playing along when you push off.
The technology and detail is impressive, but I’m most fascinated by the fact that they’re paying a guy to pretend to be Bryon Russell all day long. That’s a lot of pushoffs. I couldn’t resist the urge to play good defense every once in a while and swat an occasional MJ impersonator.
The Wired piece breaks down the intense detail that went into making the responsive, immersive, interactive court. It’s really cool.
