- Gayle scored 215 runs off 147 balls faced. This is essentially averaging more than a base off every single pitch in baseball.
- His record-breaking innings contained 16 sixes, which loosely translates into hitting five home runs. It also tied a record for the most sixes in a game ever.
- A good strike rate in one day for cricket averages around 80. The highest we’d ever seen before today was 130.35. Chris Gayle’s was 146.26. To quantify: This would be equivalent to having a slugging percentage of 1.46.
