Artwork detailing every one of England’s soccer losses sells for HUGE sum at auction

This is the perfect piece of art if you’re the kind of person who enjoys waking up and staring into the abyss of crippling sadness -- at least if you’re an England fan. This mammoth piece of granite records over 100 years of losses, all handily carved into the block for easy reference.

Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan explained his work to The Guardian:

“Carved into it are all the defeats of England’s national football team. I guess it’s a piece which talks about pride, missed opportunities and death.”
