Baseball is America's pastime, and The Wizard of Oz is an American cinema classic. The Jackson Generals, a minor-league affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, put two and two together, and created these Dorothy jerseys for their game on May 15. The jerseys feature a replica blue-and-white gingham apron pattern with the team name and numbers in ruby-red.
These jerseys are sure to be a hit based on nostalgia-factor alone. Hopefully, other teams will follow in the Generals’ cinematic footsteps, and we can see jerseys inspired by Citizen Cane, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Battleship Potemkin.
