Joe West ejects A.J. Pierzynski from game in huge surprise to no one.
Umpire Joe West ejected Atlanta Braves catcher A. J. Pierzynski from a spring training game against the Yankees, and it was so casual it seemed for a second like he was just messing around. The ejection occurred following nearly half an inning of arguing between West and Pierzynski.
Yes, Pierzynski was being difficult, but this isn’t a smart move from an umpire who is known for making controversial ejections and assaulting players.
But hey, at least Joe West isn’t the worst Joe-ref in professional sports.
