There’s finally a way to pay even more money for Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao

At least THIS time, it’s for charity!

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have already made fans grumble by revealing their May 2 fight will cost no less than $90 to order on pay-per-view. But that’s not stopping them from charging people to see them NOT fight!

ESPN reports that tickets to watch the weigh-in for the fight will be $10 each. Proceeds will go to charity. So that’s good, at least!

“All of the money that is generated from the weigh-in, every dollar, is going to charity,” Brad Jacobs, the executive event producer for Top Rank, Pacquiao’s promoter, told ESPN.com on Thursday.

Jacobs said the reason for the nominal charge is to help with crowd control.

Pacquiao’s share of the proceeds will be going to the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, while Mayweather’s portion will be going to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure foundation. Presumably the proceeds will be divided equally.

And yes, this is the first time in modern boxing history that fans will be charged to watch two fighters get on a scale and then look at each other for pictures.
