Horses and puppies have a storied history ever since that Budweiser Super Bowl commercial. Now, thanks to Jimmy Fallon, the middle of the puppy-horse Venn diagram has gotten a little bit bigger. To predict the winner, Fallon released a sea of puppies onto a short track towards a giant trough of puppy chow.

The results of the experiment produced a clear winner, although the victory was bittersweet, because as soon as the puppy reached the food, Fallon scooped him up and away from his delicious trophy. Seems like a pretty cruel way to treat a racing champion, but I guess it makes sense. Puppy’s gotta maintain his racing weight.
