The Boston Herald is going all-in on catering to the rabid Patriots fan base by turning into unabashed homers. It’s really quite unique to see a newspaper getting so involved in a topic like this. Wednesday’s front page is echoing a common sentiment Patriots fans are echoing: That the team is hated because it wins.
Seriously Boston? Chill. Sure there are probably a few people who hate the Patriots for being successful, but a far larger amount of people dislike the team for stuff like this. Claiming it’s because the team wins. Perhaps it’s because the team has been caught twice for trying to bend NFL rules. Maybe it’s because phrases like “Patriot way” are shoved in the face of 31 other teams, or that ex-Patriots players like Tedy Bruschi are on the TV fervently defending the team they played for.
