In a recent interview with Lee Jenkins in next month's Sports Illustrated, Stephen Curry recalls his younger shooting days and one particular time as an eighth-grader playing for a team called 5-0.
Stephen Curry’s dad once left a game because his son embarrassed the other team too much
“I shot everywhere and I couldn’t miss.”
But it’s the recollection from his father, Dell Curry, that makes this story so special. Young Steph scored 63 points that day, but his dad skipped the last 20 because he was in a hallway outside the gym.
“All these people were coming in to see what was going on, and there was so much commotion, it seemed like he was never going to stop,” former NBA marksman Dell Curry recalls. “I had to get out of there. I felt bad for the other team. I couldn’t watch what he was doing to those kids.”
Sure, we’ve all had a proud moment in front of a parent maybe once or twice, but that’s something else!
