Michael Bennett says playing for Pete Carroll is like playing for Willy Wonka

Come with me and you’ll be in a wooooorld of bend-don’t-break schemes.

During a phone interview with a Portland radio station this week, Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett compared coach Pete Carroll to a childhood movie icon:

“It’s like playing for Willy Wonka,” Bennett said. “He’s crazy. He wants to be young. He just is one of those guys who’s always upbeat, wants to have a good time and lets you be yourself.”

A valid point that sheds some light on the controversy surrounding the use of Oompa Loompas as water boys.

This also isn’t the first time a Bennett brother has made this comparison. In 2013, Martellus Bennett compared Marc Trestman to Willy Wonka. Maybe they only had one VHS tape while they were growing up?
