In the most stereotypically Florida story ever, a Tampa Bay Lightning fan was arrested for bringing his gun to the arena. Lucas Cassidy, 27, brought his weapon to Amalie Arena, where firearms are expressly prohibited. He was escorted out by police and now faces a misdemeanor charge (which would have been a felony, but Cassidy had a concealed weapons permit for the gun).

If you’ve been to any major sporting event in the past 10 years, you know that Cassidy had to make it past metal detectors at the arena with his gun. But, as Yahoo! Sports points out, the metal detectors aren’t much good unless security follows up with those annoying beeps.
This incident comes just a week after a Red Wings fan was arrested for setting a Lightning flag on fire in an arena. Lightning officials told reporters they’re conducting an internal investigation to figure out how this happened.
