With Adrian Beltre out due to an injury, the Rangers promoted their top prospect, Joey Gallo, from Double-A on Tuesday. Gallo made an immediate impact in his MLB debut. In fact, he made history. And he crushed a huge home run, to boot. One that made his father cry:
Rookie Joey Gallo hits homer, makes Rangers history in MLB debut
This is one way to live up to lofty expectations.

What’s that? You’d like to watch that home run on a loop? Say no more!
Distance on the Gallo HR: 418 ft. And, he set a franchise record for number of RBI in a debut with 4. #WelcomeToTheShow
— Texas Rangers (@Rangers) June 3, 2015 His first Major League at-bat was also his first Major League hit, a two-run single. His second was a two-run homer. His third at-bat? Just a double off the wall. He’s a triple short of the cycle right now. Have yourself a game, kid.
