Fox Sports 1’s takedown of Seth Meyers calling it a ‘secondary channel’ is surprisingly entertaining
James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.
There is no tangible reason this should have been the least bit watchable. On the one hand you have Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler, arguably the best “Weekend Update” hosts ever, and on the other there’s Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole of FOX Sports 1. The pair took exception to their network being called a “secondary channel” and skewered Meyers’ poor ratings.
That doesn’t make this great in itself -- what makes this good is how they were willing to joke about themselves and where viewers can find FOX Sports 1.
