It’s easy to forget that childhood dreams run through the MLB Draft.

The mind of a child is powerful.
It knows only what’s possible, not what’s impossible.

We have a name for this purity of vision: dreams.
My dream was your dream: to play big league baseball.
From the time I first swung a bat, to my first home run, to my first high school game, the dream remained strong.
Do what you love; love what you do.
And then, one day, you hear your name called.
It’s real...you’re on your way.
And if you’re lucky enough to get there, lucky enough to play well, and even luckier still to be called “MVP,” you know what? It’s even better than you ever imagined.
Thing is, that childhood dream that carried you all the way to Draft day? It stays with you. I play the game the same way, with the same purity of vision.
Because if being a child means you see only what’s possible, I don’t ever want to grow up.
