There’s a new indie band and it’s called Sports

Stereogum showcased a new indie band for their “Band To Watch” feature, and they’re called Sports. No, really! They’re actually pretty good!

Sports is working on releasing their new album All Of Something (you can hear their new single “Saturday” in the Stereogum feature), although the members are currently going through life transitions, which seems like they’re all moving on to different projects. That’s terrible for us, because we’re super into the idea of a band called SPORTS, whose logo has a basketball in place of the ‘O.’

It sounds like their new album will be the right music for the post-college graduate in all of us, as most indie music is wont to do:

The album chronicles a transitional period that, once you’re well beyond it, seems more like a series of trivial missteps than an emotional apocalypse. It’s true: The fear of dealing with post-graduate existence is often more crippling than the reality of it -- a day-by-day, job-to-job experiment in being flexible and self-sufficient. It changes you, and if we’re to consider All Of Something as a product of end-of-college chaos, then it’s helpful to frame this album as a time capsule.
