Phoenix really wanted LaMarcus Aldridge to come play for the Suns, so much so that they were planning on hanging a pretty awesome banner.

Unfortunately for them, the banner wasn’t enough and Aldridge announced today that he would be signing with the San Antonio Spurs.
So now the question is “what should Phoenix do with the banner?” No worries, Mayor Stanton already has that figured out:

UPDATE: According to a report in The Arizona Republic, Phoenix was close to hanging the banner. Really close.
“We got there at 6 a.m. The vendor was there and we got access to the building and got the banner anchored,” said Maria Baier, the Suns’ senior vice president of communications. “We were ready to unfurl it, and then the call came at about 8:30 a.m. and we had to stop the process.”
Aldridge had signed with the San Antonio Spurs.
That could have been really embarrassing and really funny.
