Mark Teixeira almost has hissy fit when fan tries to get the ball...gives him a shot! #yankees#bluejays#Teixeira pic.twitter.com/tAGQSGNhZQ

Mark Teixeira was understandably annoyed during the Yankees 2-0 loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday. The team was in the midst of a three-game losing streak, teammate Brett Gardner was drilled by an errant throw and then Teixeira got pushed by a fan trying to get a popup. He had enough and characterized the run-in as an “assault.”
“You can insult. You can’t assault. We know you are upset we lost three in a row. Keep it to insults.”
That’s a little overblown on Teixeira’s part. Granted the fan acted like a knucklehead trying to get a baseball, but it’s not like he was trying to hurt the Yankees first basemen -- but it was an ugly scene all around.
