Early Tuesday afternoon, 2015 golf major winners Jordan Spieth and Zach Johnson challenged each other to see who would throw the better first pitch that night. The two friends made a dinner bet in wake of Spieth tossing the ceremonial ball for the Texas Rangers while Johnson did the same for the Chicago Cubs.
Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth bet dinner on who throws the better first pitch
The two star golfers provided a friendly battle off the golf course.

Johnson initiated the challenge, Spieth delivered a funny jab right back and Johnson had his own quality comeback.
@JordanSpieth pro, I'm throwing out first pitch at Cubs game tonight too. How about dinner on who throws better pitch? @espn decides? #heat
— Zach Johnson (@ZachJohnsonPGA) August 18, 2015 @ZachJohnsonPGA @espn old man.. I'd be surprised if you reach the plate #crowhop
— Jordan Spieth (@JordanSpieth) August 18, 2015 @JordanSpieth @espn I guess it's on "young-blood". You won't have @michael_greller to give you a read from the rubber. #JustYou
— Zach Johnson (@ZachJohnsonPGA) August 18, 2015 So with the challenge laid out, who had the better first pitch?
Spieth

— Texas Rangers (@Rangers) August 19, 2015 Right down the middle. One of the best athlete first pitch tosses you will ever see.
Johnson

— Chris Chaney (@Wrong_Fairway) August 19, 2015 Though the high camera angle doesn’t do Johnson full justice, you can still see the Open Championship winner deliver a good first pitch. Unfortunately for him, just like in golf this year, Spieth’s first pitch is just a wee bit better than what Johnson threw.
That means Zach will be the one paying for dinner next time they meet up.
Also, the Cubs somehow registered Johnson’s pitch as hitting 95 on their radar gun.
.@JordanSpieth Who threw it better? @ZachJohnsonPGA just registered 95 on the radar gun... pic.twitter.com/M2iDdaRsUI
— Chicago Cubs (@Cubs) August 19, 2015 They didn’t specify 95 on what scale, but if that’s 95 mph from Johnson then Spieth throws harder than Aroldis Chapman.
