With two seconds left in the first half against Detroit, Washington was set up with a first-and-goal at the Lions’ 1-yard line. It opted to go for the touchdown, setting up a situation where Washington would either score or the half would end without issue.
The Detroit-Washington 1st half ended with a hilarious sequence of fumbles and miscues

Except this happened.
Now, Colt McCoy fumbling and accidentally kicking the ball is only part of what turned out to be a hilarious play. The ball bounced perfectly, setting up Kyle Van Noy for a recovery. Except he couldn’t pick it up cleanly and instead lost it up in the air, but perfectly to a teammate.
In Van Noy’s defense, LeBron James couldn’t have dished a better assist to Travis Lewis. Unfortunately, Lewis didn’t have quite enough speed to take it all the way and was tackled at the 50-yard line making for a meaningless, but extremely eventful and hilarious final play of the first half.
NFL preseason, feel the excitement!
