When Andreas Hartø stepped to the 16th tee during second round of the European Tour’s Made In Denmark, he was 5-over on his round and heading toward a missed cut. His score, however, was probably one of the last things on his mind. Instead, he was probably thinking about what would happen in a few minutes when he executed his plan to propose to his girlfriend.
Pro golfer proposes to his girlfriend on the green during a tournament
Nothing like popping the question in front of 3,000 cheering fans.

The 27-year-old is from Denmark and had arranged for his girlfriend Louise to watch him play the hole from near the green. He hit a solid tee shot and even made the birdie putt. Then, he called Louise to meet him near the green and pulled out a ring and proposed.
As for why he proposed on the 16th green, during his round as opposed to the 18th at the end, Hartø said Louise’s favorite number is seven so he played off the fact that 1 + 6 = 7. He was planning to propose no matter what he scored on the hole, but the fact he made birdie had to make it a little sweeter. It wasn’t easy to make birdie either, especially with so many nerves.
"It came into my mind that I could do it here, but it took some convincing myself and some courage," Hartø said via European Tour. "I was very nervous when it happened, but I couldn't have written it any better. I don't know how I hit that shot or made that putt. It was crazy and I was almost crying when I hit the putt because I knew what was about to happen."
He went on to miss the cut, but we’re guessing that didn’t do much to diminish the day.
