USA’s Justin Gatlin had not lost in 28 straight races, and he had beaten Usain Bolt the last time they raced more than two years ago. Usain Bolt had not lost since before Gatlin’s streak started, but he had been battling injuries all season. None of that mattered today.
Usain Bolt wins 100m at World Championships by .01 seconds over Justin Gatlin

USAIN BOLT !!! Nuevamente campeón del mundo 100m !!! Carrerón!!! pic.twitter.com/GvmqHcw5OT
— Pensador de Apuestas (@Pnsdordapuestas) August 23, 2015 With a time of 9.79 seconds, just a fraction of a second ahead of Gatlin’s 9.80, Bolt in some ways reclaimed his throne as the fastest man in the world. Gatlin has produced faster times on several occasions this year, but when the Usain Bolt was running alongside him he was not able to replicate those performances. The King stay the King.
The full list of results can be found here, with four Americans finishing in the top six overall. Hopefully we get to see this good of a race in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
