The US Open is underway and Serena Williams got an easy first round win after Vitalia Diatchenko was forced to retire. This Gatorade ad reminds us that the round to this point has been very tough. Serena has overcome injuries, people doubting her ability, and always being compared and contrasted to her sister.
Perhaps the best moment is a young Serena being asked who she wants to be like. Her simple response: “I’d like other people to be like me.”
