Pope Francis is visiting the United States for six days this week, taking a tour of Washington, DC, New York City and Philadelphia. On Thursday, Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari tweeted that he’d be watching the Pope address Congress:
John Calipari went to see the Pope, is probably recruiting the Pope
Headed to see the pope. I'll be in the gallery for this momentous occasion to see a true servant leader, one who puts our most needy first!
— John Calipari (@UKCoachCalipari) September 24, 2015 And then Tennessee representative Steve Cohen caught a glimpse of Calipari enjoying himself:
Coach #Cal is in the House for #PopeFrancis. Pope is the only person who recruits better than Cal . pic.twitter.com/jO1UgRsO5g
— Steve Cohen (@RepCohen) September 24, 2015 While it’s always cool to see worlds collide, you can’t help but wonder if Calipari is kinda, sorta, there to recruit Pope Francis to be on his team. Maybe Pope Francis actually has some skills and the world just doesn’t know it yet.
In any case, hopefully Calipari had a wonderful time hearing the Pope, because we could use a lot more of his philosophical tweets like this one:
Walking on the beach this morning, doing a little thinking when I saw footprints in the sand. Reminded me of the poem Footprints in the Sand
