This not-so-long con by Gregg Popovich is the highlight of NBA Media Day, by a longshot. For at least 90 percent of the clip you think he’s the biggest jerk alive, even a jerk by the normal Pop standards of being a jerk to the media -- then he turns it around in the last 20 seconds.
It was mean, horrible, cringe-worthy and hilarious. Poor Jared Greenberg still didn’t know whether to laugh with Pop or sock him in the face. That’s why this is beautiful.
