‘Mighty Ducks 4’ could be happening, according to Averman and Charlie Conway

Matt Doherty, who played Averman in the Mighty Ducks movies, made a guest appearance on the Quack Attack podcast to talk about what’s going on with the rumored sequel.

“[Quack Attack co-host] Kevin here. Have you taken a shot at writing a script for D4, by chance?”
Doherty: “I have not. However, I do have some of the inside scoop on the details of that. But if I told you, I’d have to kill ya. No, I do know that’s definitely, there are definitely people who are working on that. There’s definitely a lot of talk about -- more than talk, actually [...] getting a whole bunch of different groups and studios and people all together to look at, like, who owns the, you know [...] those kind of things take time ...”

So, as expected, in the absence of actual, explicit confirmation from Disney (or whoever owns The Mighty Ducks franchise), Doherty can’t confirm the sequel himself. Yet, this may be enough to excite film fans.

What probably sparked this was Mighty Ducks (and Dawson’s Creek) star Joshua Jackson tweeting about the films on a random August day, according to Hollywood Life. It was probably him just wanting to go down memory lane, but then he started to drop a hint:

And a suggestion for who would replace him in the potential sequel:

That would be Ty Simpkins, who really does look like a young Joshua Jackson:

The hype is real, and it’s getting stronger with each new hint from the stars. Hey Disney, or whoever owns the Mighty Ducks franchise right now, please make this happen. Also, tie Goldberg on the net again:
