Dee Gordon signed a $50 million contract and immediately went to get McNuggets

Dee Gordon and the Miami Marlins formally announced a five-year contract worth $50 million on Monday. It is Gordon’s first massive contract after earning a total of $4.6 million during the first five years of his MLB career. Part of Gordon’s new mega-deal was a $1.5 million signing bonus. So, how did he go out and celebrate?

With chicken McNuggets at McDonalds.

At 7 p.m. ET, Gordon tweeted out a thank you to the Marlins and fans:

A little more than an hour later, Gordon was at McDonalds tweeting about McNugget sauce:

That is certainly one way to celebrate. And for Gordon it might be the best way possible, as he is a noted McDonalds fan.

And like any seasoned McNuggets eater, Gordon also has strong opinions on sauce.

$50 million will buy a whole lot of McNuggets. McDonalds in Miami better stock up on sour sauce.
