Cam Newton calls out his haters in new Beats By Dre commercial

James Dator
James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.

Cam Newton became the most polarzing man in the NFL this season. Some people love him, others hate him and some dislike him so much they wrote letters to the editor. A portion of NFL fans love his bravado and swagger; some think it lacks “class.” Newton’s latest commercial for Beats By Dre is a message to the haters.

Newton says: “If giving a kid a football just to make them smile, or dancing after a touchdown hurts peoples’ feelings -- well -- too bad they don’t make Band-Aids for feelings.”

The best part: The hook to “Watch Out” by 2 Chainz that’s playing in the background is “you getting maaaaaaaaad / I’m getting rich.” Sums it all up quite nicely.
