Ben Simmons, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, took to Twitter to voice his frustrations with candidate Donald Trump.
Joel Embiid, the 76ers’ star center and self-described “Twitter ninja,” replied to Simmons’ tweet, paving the way for the night’s most entertaining exchange of words.
Born in Australia, Simmons is a dual citizen of both his native country and the United States. Embiid, a native of Cameroon, came to the United States in 2011 at the age of 16 to pursue hoop dreams.
He looked a little bit different back then.
To quote The Donald, Embiid’s physical transformation has been “huge!”
Elsewhere in the NBA, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle compared his team’s lackadaisical start against Houston to Trump’s performance in the debates.
With the debates finally coming to an end, NBA players and coaches can finally focus more on the upcoming regular season, and less on who will or will not be hypothetically deported.
