To quote the great Pusha T, Damian Lillard is quickly becoming a “legend in two games” like he’s Pee-Wee Kirkland. In addition to Lillard’s stellar NBA career, which includes winning Rookie of the Year and twice being named an All-Star and All-NBA selection, Portland’s star point guard moonlights as a rapper under the name “Dame D.O.L.L.A.”
NBA players and actual rappers are endorsing Damian Lillard’s debut album
Dame even got Lil Wayne and Juvenile features!

And, unlike past NBA rappers like Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and Tony Parker, Dame is not awful.
Thursday night, Dame D.O.L.L.A. released his debut album, “The Letter O.” Complete with features from Jamie Foxx, Lil Wayne, and yes, even Juvenile(!), Dame’s debut proved to be a hit amongst his NBA colleagues.
You may still be skeptical, and rightfully so, as literally nobody in the world uses the trio of T.J. Warren, Meyers Leonard, and Ricky Rubio as a source of hip-hop news. However, some stars hopped aboard to help conduct the Dame D.O.L.L.A. hype train.
Grammy consideration? Who cares! Dame is just a Carmelo and CP3 shoutout away from being the first artist to be officially repped by Banana Boat Records with the D-Wade/King James joint endorsement.
Still skeptical? Well, it’s not just players praising Dame’s debut. Rappers Casey Veggies and Rockie Fresh tossed Lillard some assists via Twitter.
So, ignore Pitchfork, Fader, HotNewHipHop, or whatever the source for your rap game recommendations are. Dame is the real deal, and he has the support of Ricky Rubio, Meyers Leonard, T.J. Warren, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade to prove it.
P.S. If you are sad, just imagine Ricky Rubio gleefully listening to this project. I dare you not to smile.
