Brock Osweiler is having a rough night in his return to Denver. He struggled to successfully throw the ball against a tough Denver defense. He also struggled to simply throw the ball at all.

Osweiler lost a fumble when the ball came loose during his throwing motion and he pushed it downfield. On the surface that looks like a pass attempt. The ball clearly traveled forward while Osweiler was attempting to throw. The ball, however, also clearly started to come loose in Osweiler’s hand before he started his arm forward. He didn’t throw the ball as much as he shoved it forward after it slipped out of his hand.
The players on the field thought it was a pass attempt at first. Denver’s Chris Harris scooped it up, but everyone on the field acted as if it was an incomplete pass.
There was plenty of pressure on Osweiler’s shoulders heading into the game. He’s struggled in his new role with Houston, and he’s taken plenty of flack from his former teammates and the fans in Denver. Plays like this aren’t helping his cause.
