On Wednesday, Vin Scully was announced as one of 21 recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. It’s the highest civilian honor in the United States. Scully’s reaction to the news, was to make sure they were calling the right guy.

Scully — the greatest sports announcer of all time — is incredibly humble to describe himself as “just an old baseball announcer.” Really, this award is a well-deserved honor considering how beloved Scully is and how remarkable his 67-year career was.
Vin Scully was already the best. This only adds to his legend.
