It was an emotional scene.

“With a heavy heart, we sadly report the loss of our beloved father, husband, grandpa and friend, Robert Lee Verner,” Verner said in a statement. “We are thankful for his love and support. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. He will forever be cherished and missed.”
On Sunday against the Seahawks, Verner picked off Russell Wilson.
Verner was understandably emotional on the sideline after the play. His teammates surrounded him to show support, patting him on the helmet and back. He played on Sunday in remembrance of his father.
As Verner entered the stadium, he was seen receiving condolences from members of the Seahawks, with Richard Sherman being the first, according to Rick Stroud.
