The final seconds of the first half between the Bills and Seahawks were eventful and very significant. Officials missed multiple calls that should have set the Bills up with an easier field goal attempt. Instead, the officials missed their calls and the Bills missed their field goal.
Rex Ryan calls botched officiating at the end of the first half ‘absolutely ridiculous’


Rex Ryan was not happy about it.
“Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous,” Ryan said about the blown calls at the end of the half. “It’s clear what happened, the guy roughed our kicker. Jumps offsides, roughs our kicker. And then because we had to go out and attend to him, and it wasn’t called roughing the kicker, then we had to spike the ball so we can come back in and kick.”
Ryan went on to criticize the process on the actual kick. Officials were slow in getting the special kicking ball on the field, leading to a delay of game. It was a cluster of mistakes that should not have happened.
The end of the first half was significant too with how the game ended. The Bills trailed by six instead of three in the final seconds. At the Seattle 15-yard line they could have kicked a game-tying field goal had the first half ended better. Ryan was adamant the Bills would have kicked.
”From an officiating standpoint, I think you could do a little better than that,” he said.
