Auston Matthews did not enter the NHL with any subtleties, but that doesn’t mean the Toronto Maple Leafs rookie isn’t capable of some extraordinary ones.
Auston Matthews bends physics on a ridiculous tip-in goal
This kid is good.

The Anaheim Ducks were in town for a highly-anticipated matchup on Monday (their coach, Randy Carlyle, was fired by Toronto a few seasons ago) but Matthews made jaws drop with a goal in the second period.
Leafs defenseman Nikita Zaitsev fired a hopeful shot towards the net, and Matthews seemingly got lucky with a tip-in goal in front.
But when you slow it down, it’s clear that wasn’t lucky at all. Matthews just pulled off a ridiculously subtle and incredible tip-in-goal.
That’s physics at work, friends. That’s why he went first overall in the draft last summer. The kid has hands of velvet, as the Leafs broadcasters said.
