There was a brief delay in the game between North Carolina and Davidson on Wednesday. It wasn’t to tend to an injured player, or to mop water off the court, or to stop fans from throwing things. Instead, it was because some confetti started falling from the rafters.
North Carolina’s game with Davidson was briefly delayed by randomly falling confetti

According to Beard, the confetti looked like green paper. Why it was falling remains a mystery. It’s possible there was some rogue confetti leftover in the rafters and something — like an air system turning on — sent it tumbling toward the court.
Fortunately, the confetti was just a brief issue. It was quickly swept up and play resumed.
Confetti falling at college basketball games isn’t new, but usually it’s saved until after the game is actually over.
