Cam Newton defends his choice to wear black and yellow safari pants

Cam Newton earned headlines for just about every move he made during the season, so it should come as no surprise that one of the main topics during media day was Newton’s choice of pants for the trip to San Francisco.

Although the general sentiment seems to be the pants were not very good at all, Newton defended the choice. He had solid logic, too, saying he chose the pants because they were black and gold, which are the colors of Super Bowl 50. That’s reasonable enough, even if they weren’t a popular choice.

At least one other person liked the pants. Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib said Cam was “dripping on them, swaggy.”
