The Seahawks’ Michael Bennett isn’t afraid to do some playful trash talk at the expense of his peers, as he showed during Pro Bowl practice last month. And he’s especially not afraid to do it at award shows, as he did on Wednesday. During his acceptance speech at the MTR Western Sports Star of the Year Awards, Bennett took some verbal shots at Cam Newton and the men with whom he shared the Male Sports Star of the Year category, according to Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

“I hope you guys aren’t sore losers like Cam Newton,” the Seahawks defensive lineman told the finalists nominated for the Male Sports Star of the Year honor.
... which was followed by: “There are a lot of stars in this town. I just happen to be the best one.”
In Newton’s defense, he told the press on Tuesday that he accepts that he’s a sore loser.
