Behold, the majestic mullet of Buckhorn High School’s Shannon Blank:
This high school basketball player has a mullet too beautiful for this world

And if you’re wondering what Blank is like on the court:
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, the mullet’s become part of the Wildcats’ identity, even though coach John Noble thought it was a joke by former player Peyton Cooper. In fairness, it’s still a joke, but apparently the mockery only makes them “tougher:”
“I think the mullet has kind of come to represent what we’re about as a team,” Noble said. “I think it’s made them tougher. If you’re going to wear a mullet in 2016, you better be prepared for what’s going to come with it.” That has included taunts from opposing student sections. Buckhorn’s players laugh it off. “I don’t know if people realize it or not, but we’re in on the joke,” Noble said.
Buckhorn played their Sweet Sixteen match against the Murray Tigers on Wednesday, who wore fake mullets during practice the day before ... probably to see if growing a mullet turns you into a better basketball player. Sadly, mullet power does not exist, because Murray beat Buckhorn by a huge margin.

But we as a society should never stop believing in the magic of mullets. Hopefully, if he decides to play basketball in college and even get into the NBA, Blank keeps the mullet.
