Bitter ex-Maverick Rajon Rondo is pretty happy Dallas might miss the playoffs
Rajon Rondo's short stay with the Mavericks ended for good when Rick Carlisle benched him in Game 2 of last year's first round series and dismissed him from the team with a "back injury." The team even voted for him not to receive his playoff share after losing in five games. When Rondo finally returned to Dallas in a Kings uniform earlier this month, fans booed him throughout the contest. There's blame both ways for how poorly the trade worked for the Mavericks, but it's safe to say there's no love lost between the two sides.
“I want them to get their plane ticket the same time as ours,” Rondo said after the Kings worsened the Mavericks’ playoff chances by beating them Sunday. “Anytime I can help, that’s what I try to get these guys to focus on. If we’re not going to make the playoffs, then send some of these guys home with us.”
I’m sure this will go over well with Mavericks fans. Totally.
