The San Jose Sharks clinched a playoff spot after beating the Los Angeles Kings 5-2. It wasn’t without a little drama, however, when the Sharks’ Melker Karlsson scored a goal in the third period that had to be reviewed. It seems as though referee Wes McCauley didn’t want to do a milquetoast goal review, because he put some heart into this one.
“After review on the play, the call on the ice ... stands. WE GOT A GOAL,” McCauley screamed, like he was waiting for this moment all his life.
