Munenori Kawasaki serenaded the Cubs with the sweet, sweet sounds of Aerosmith

MLB fans are familiar with how delightful Munenori Kawasaki is -- not just as a player, but as a person, too. When he was with the Blue Jays last season, he had one of the best postgame interviews ever. Now he’s with the Cubs, and during spring training, he decided to serenade them with, of all songs, Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”

Sure, Kawasaki’s English is not perfect -- he even says “I have a dream: my dream, speak English” -- but it’s the delivery that counts, and boy he delivered. He got all of his teammates, clad in Japanese flag bandannas, to join in and belt out Steven Tyler’s Armageddon ballad. And it’s a song that Kawasaki holds dear to his heart, because holy crap, he’s watched Armageddon 33 times:

“I love you,” Kawasaki told his Cubs teammates. And you know what, the feeling is mutual, Mune.
