Four games ago, the Mavericks were four games under .500 and losing players to injury left and right. Coming to the rescue has been none other than J.J. Barea. In his last three games, Barea has scored 73 points, including a 29-point night in a big win against the Pistons on Friday. The game happened even though Barea and his wife welcomed a baby daughter on Thursday, with Barea not arriving at the arena until hours before the game's tip, and led to one of the best calls you'll hear all season from Mark Followill, exuberantly calling him "Baby Daddy."
The only thing better than J.J. Barea’s incredible week is the Mavericks’ announcer’s call
Let’s see, a three-game winning streak, back-to-back games as the team’s leading scorer and becoming a child? That’s a pretty exciting week. Barea seems to agree.
J.J. Barea after scoring a combined 73 pts in 3 games & the birth of his daughter: "Other than 2011 championship week, this is pretty good."
