Dodgers’ Kiké Hernandez gave his batting gloves to a fan in exchange for shoes

Kiké Hernandez is awesome—and it’s not just because his at-bat song on the Los Angeles Dodgers is Ginuwine’s “Pony.”
On Saturday before the Dodgers’ game against the Giants, a young fan asked for his batting gloves, which is pretty typical. Fans love to get free stuff when they interact with ballplayers.
But Kiké made this exchange a bit more difficult by turning it into an actual exchange of clothes. He asked for the kid’s shoes, and the kid was definitely down to go barefoot for the gloves. You can always buy a new pair of shoes, but when is the next time you can grab the batting gloves of a major leaguer? It’s a pretty easy decision, despite the small discomfort.
But Hernandez was really joking. He returned his shoes—because they obviously weren’t going to fit him—but he returned them in even better condition than he got them. Now the kid is the proud owner of one-of-a-kind pair of Kiké Hernandez-autographed black Vans.
Don't worry, they didn't fit @kikehndez. Josh got 'em back. #WeLoveLA pic.twitter.com/Ryu1UFIOxe
