Pirates throwback uniforms inspired the broadcast team to use 1970s outfits and graphics

The Pittsburgh Pirates went throwback on Sunday. In fact the team will be wearing yellow unis, complete with those great pillbox hats, every Sunday. But the best part of when a team takes out the old uniforms from the closet isn’t the uniforms themselves, it’s how the television broadcast and announcers react to it.
In the case of Root sports, they went all in on the Pirates’ 1979 motif, complete with old-school graphics to introduce the game.

Broadcaster and former Pirate Bob Walk donned a yellow coat for the occasion but quite frankly, we want to see him back in those old Pirates uniforms.
