Dennis Schroder was called for a flagrant 1 foul on Friday against the Celtics. Isaiah Thomas was not. That’s not a situation Schroder is very happy about, especially because he says his flagrant was just a response to getting hit in the face by Thomas.
Dennis Schroder is mad he received a flagrant foul for being hit in the face by Isaiah Thomas

It all started when the Celtics were inbounding the ball and Thomas’ hand clearly made contact with Schroder’s face.
Whether that was intentional is up for the NBA to decide. It certainly looks questionable and possibly intentional. If it was, it was subtle enough to not get noticed by the refs. Schroder certainly noticed and took exception. On the other end of the court, he and Thomas got into it. This time Schroder was whistled for a flagrant foul.
After the game, Schroder said a referee apologized to him at halftime for missing the initial slap, according to Olivia Harlan. Schroder also tweeted, then deleted some additional thoughts.

The NBA reviewed the foul on Saturday, and assessed a flagrant 1 on Thomas, but declined to suspend him. That now-deleted tweet probably didn’t factor into the suspension, but Schroder will probably be happy to hear that the league meted out some punishment to his sparring partner.
