Lauren Hill was one of the most inspirational figures in sports in 2015 and her message of “never give up” transcended women’s basketball to reach all of us. On Tuesday night, Hill’s memory was honored ahead of the women’s NCAA Championship between UConn and Syracuse.

Lauren’s parents, Lisa and Brent Hill, accepted the “Love of the Game Award” from the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame on their daughter’s behalf.

Lauren Hill epitomized what we should all strive to do: Face life’s challenges no matter the odds, never stop fighting and live life to its fullest. Lauren loved basketball intensely and she will be remembered. Now her memory will live forever in the Hall of Fame.
