Don’t trash talk Robinson Cano, or he’ll hit a two-run homer just for you

Robinson Cano hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning of Wednesday’s Mariners-Rangers game, which ended in a victory for Seattle. Unbeknownst to everyone in the stadium, it was also a personal victory for Cano. When he makes his way back to the dugout, you’ll notice that he points to a fan in the stands. Why did he do that? Because according to Reddit user atr0038, that fan was talking trash while Cano was at bat:
I was sitting in the sixth row at this game behind home plate slightly to the left, the best seats I’ve ever had. This guy was talking huge shit to Cano right to his face when he was on deck in the 9th. Cano stared him down and was pissed. After he hit that HR, he pointed at the guy on the way back to the dugout.
In response to another user positing that the “fan was fuming,” atr0038 said:
Yep, that was it! The guy said, “You suck Cano, and you’re going to choke. That’s why the Yankees got rid of your ass” and continued to talk crap to him, right in front of the netting. The way Cano was looking at that dude, and swinging the bat today, I knew he was going to homer.
This had shades of that one time Bryce Harper made a trash-talking, wine-drinking Giants fan sad with his own home run. The lesson: trash talk MLB players at your own risk of embarrassment, lest you end up on the bad end of a Nelson Muntz-like mocking.
