The Bulls are fighting off playoff elimination (which is very likely, but hey, not mathematically impossible), so they've got an even more dramatic "make them fight for every bucket" mentality than usual. But while Doug McDermott wants to make Whiteside earn it at the line, he probably shouldn't straight up tackle him.
With that said, if McDermott needs a career fallback, perhaps defensive end’s an option here? He’s 6’8 and 220 pounds so it would have to be a speed role. Hmm, not sure he’s speedy enough. Forget the tackle, let’s just stick to basketball here.
