On Friday, ESPN’s Zach Lowe revealed that the then-New Jersey Nets were once on the verge of ditching the Nets moniker in favor of the Swamp Dragons. The designs were cartoonish, perfect for the 90s since every other NBA team was shifting to that type of design, and they went so far as to develop the logos for the new look.
Robin Lopez really wanted a New Jersey Swamp Dragons jersey, so we made him one

Unfortunately, they got in their own way by voting against it. The redesign isn’t all that bad. In fact, it has New York Knick Robin Lopez wishing for a Swamp Dragons jersey. While we can’t necessarily make one ourselves, we did the next best thing:
In an alternate universe, RoLo would be beefing it with the team’s mascot by now.
And he loves the jersey!
I can honestly tell you Brook could not be more jealous right now #AndThatCouldntMakeMeHappier #HeWantsThoseUnis https://t.co/vIVvDRz0yn
