Rockets fans held a rally to support Kenny Smith as head coach

The Houston Rockets’ regular season was a trainwreck. Dwight Howard never seemed to fit with the rest of the roster and he may be on his way out. Kevin McHale was fired early in the season and J. B. Bickerstaff took over.
But despite making the playoffs, the franchise decided to go another route in terms of a head coach. As dismal as the situation sounds, the fans aren’t deterred much.
In fact, they’re fairly optimistic about the coaching search, especially with Kenny Smith. Smith, a former Rockets player, got the support from fans at Toyota Center, who even held up signs.
Those Rockets fans should be fairly optimistic given what Smith said to FOX 26:
”I’m a Rocket at heart. This just a step. I’ve always been interested at some point in coaching. So I’m here. We’re going to see.
